I grew up in Afro-Caribbean culture, and in my home, when you have a cold, you take honey, lemon, and ginger.
Simple, yet effective things!
So when I wanted to start taking care of myself, I was looking for simple and effective solutions. But it didn't go as planned…
My first reflex? To look at the product composition. And there, you need a master's degree in chemistry to decipher it all. But one thing is certain: after water and alcohol, there were still no real raw materials.
At that moment, I realized that I would never find a product that truly suited me.
I still tried a few brands, just to see… Nothing suited me.
That's when I started to play apprentice chemist in my kitchen, thanks to DIY videos on YouTube. And over time, after much research, I found a formula that truly met all my expectations.
I'm not going to lie, I thought I had gone crazy with all my experiments. But when I had my guys test my products, their feedback was clear: I had something serious on my hands.
I was advised to commercialize it. And that's what I did!
In a short time, I found myself launched into the world of men's cosmetics, having to create and find new products and accessories to meet the needs of my clientele. But no more experiments in the kitchen: now, we go through a real laboratory!
I decided to create my brand. But not just any brand. It had to reflect me.
I'm neither a hipster nor a biker. I come from the hood! And I'm proud of it!
We have our own culture, our own style, our own language, our own codes.
The suburbs influence Paris, and Paris influences the world.
And it's real. Look around you.
Suit-and-tie wear sneakers. Fashion runways are dressed in streetwear. Our expressions resonate in open spaces.
Our influence is everywhere. But we are nowhere. No brand speaks to us. Or when they do, it's clumsy or full of clichés…
But who better than us to represent ourselves?
Sometimes, no kidding, you have to get straight to the point and speak your mind.
Today, Black Bear is by us, for us!
Because we like good things. Because we want products that look like us and respect us.
